A Unique Collection Of Shaker Furniture And Accessories

The Shakers were a religious group of folk founded by Mother Ann Lee in 1779 in the New York area for the purpose of worshiping in their own unique ways. The name “Shakers” comes from their practice of spontaneously standing up during worship meetings and quivering or “shaking” in their religious fervor. They were widely known and respected for their workmanship, but usefulness and simplicity also played a major role in the design of all of their furniture and items of daily life. The following pictures show a collection of Shaker furniture and daily life accessories that I have crafted in miniature versions. Many are available in all three scales and at the bottom of the third page of my collection, I show some of the most common variety of colors and finishes used by the Shakers.
